Prof. Dr. Yasser Saad Mohamed El Kassar is a distinguished Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Alexandria University, Egypt, with more than two decades of clinical and academic expertise. He graduated with first-class honors from Alexandria University in 1998, obtained his Master’s degree in 2003, and earned his Doctorate (MD) in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2007. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2016 and to Full Professor in 2021. Prof. El Kassar is widely recognized for his clinical excellence in fertility medicine, reproductive endocrinology, and advanced gynecological endoscopy, areas in which he serves as a consultant and senior instructor. He has extensive hands-on experience in the management of infertility, controlled ovarian stimulation, ICSI cycles, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including hysteroscopic and laparoscopic procedures for reproductive optimization. His expertise places him among the leading fertility specialists in the region. At El Shatby Maternity University Hospital, one of the largest tertiary maternal and reproductive health centers in Egypt, he has played major leadership roles—serving as Medical Director (2013–2019) and currently as General Director (2020–present). In these capacities, he has overseen major expansions in reproductive services, integration of evidence-based fertility protocols, and advancement of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery programs. His academic contributions include extensive teaching of medical students, residents, and fertility fellows, with a strong emphasis on reproductive endocrinology and gynecologic endoscopy. His research portfolio includes significant work in assisted reproduction, embryo selection, pharmacologic induction of labor, and maternal emergencies. He has served as a principal investigator and consultant in several international collaborative studies, including projects with Gynuity Health Projects, contributing to influential publications in high-impact journals such as The Lancet. Prof. El Kassar is also Treasurer of the Egyptian Menopause Society and the Egyptian Foundation of Reproduction and Embryology, reflecting his active leadership in national reproductive health initiatives.
