Dr Ahmed Fawzy Galal is a professor of obstetrics and gynecology,
Alexandria University, Egypt. He works as a lead consultant of reproductive
medicine and infertility at the university center. He is a founder and director
of Repro IVF centers (one of top IVF centers in Egypt). Prof Galal has
completed his higher accreditation in Obstetrics and Gynecology in
Alexandria university Egypt in 2002. He was awarded a subspecialist
accreditation in reproductive endocrinology and infertility in 2010 after
obtaining his PhD in collaboration with the University of Minnesota, USA.
He worked as post-doctoral fellowship at university of New Mexico USA for
a year. Moreover, He is Accredited ultra sonographer in OB GYN from
Alliance for physician certification and advancement, USA.
In recognition of Prof Galal dedication towards improving women’s health,
he was awarded the prestigious fellowship honoris causa of royal collage of
obstetrician and gynecologist 2023 . prof Galal further advanced his career
in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) by earning the esteemed
American Fellowship in REI in 2024. Recognized for his expertise and
leadership, he was appointed as both a faculty member and the official
ambassador for the Middle East and Africa, representing this prestigious
fellowship on the global stage. Prof Galal is very active in various domains of women’s health, namely
through WHO as SRMH expert and research committee member. he has a
leadership role in creating and conducting rationalizing the use of cs in
Egypt manuals and workshop with WHO .and through his membership in
FIGO adolescent and youth health committee and well women healthcare
committee. Through RCOG, He co-authored RCOG anti Female Genital
Mutilation educational and ethical module for healthcare workers",
contributing in the fight for reducing medicalization against FGM His
remarkable work in creating AMAN program resulted in significant
reduction of maternal mortality in various areas of Egypt. His establishment
of the national Women’s health promotion society helped in education and
training thousands of healthcare providers in addition to public advocacy of
major women’s health issues. He was appointed as a member of national
committee for CS reduction in Egypt and also as a member for Egyptian
GDG for ob&Gyn . Prof galal is also a founder and chair of women’s health promotion society ,nonprofit organization working to enhance women health in Egypt and beyond established since 2014 with many activities nationally , regionally and internationally .
