Dr. Bashir Taha Salih joined Corniche Hospital in March 1994, where he established the first Department of Obstetric Medicine in the Gulf/Middle East, dedicated to managing medical issues in women before, during, and after pregnancy. Under his leadership, the Obstetric Medicine Unit at Corniche Hospital was recognized in 2010 by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), UK, as the first and only unit outside the UK to train obstetricians in Maternal/Obstetric Medicine (ATSM). Eight obstetricians were trained in this specialized field.
In April 2012, Dr. Bashir was awarded a fellowship by the RCOG in recognition of his exceptional dedication and contributions to clinical care and women's health service development.
A renowned speaker at national and international forums, Dr. Bashir is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Executive Committee of the International Society of Obstetric Medicine (ISOM) and a past president of the Sudan Diabetes Association, Gulf Chapter. He is highly experienced in multidisciplinary care, holding combined clinics in cardiology, hematology, neurology, and respiratory medicine alongside obstetricians and specialists from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
