Prof. Scott Nelson is the Muirhead Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of Glasgow and a consultant for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. He is also the Medical Director of Access Fertility, Scientific Director of The Fertility Partnership, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Bristol. Each year, he cares for thousands of women and men with fertility issues. His desire to help as many people as possible has driven him to ensure consistently up-to-date information, the highest quality science, and the latest technology. This powerful combination drives high success rates. He has over 10 years of experience in medico-legal work. He has provided over 100 reports on liability and causation, and condition and prognosis, and is formally trained in report writing and giving evidence in court. Approximately 60% of his instructions come from claimant solicitors, with the remainder from representatives of defendants, including the Medical Defence Union, the Medical Protection Society, and NHS Resolution. He currently prepares around 20 reports a year. As the HFEA licence holder for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, he is well versed in the principles of informed consent and Good Clinical Practice across all aspects of IVF and fertility care.
