Professor Abdulmagid Mahmoud Hussain Sarhan, MSc, MD, FRCOG, is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University, Egypt, where he also served as Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2015 to 2020. He obtained his medical degree (MB, BCh) from Zagazig University in 1983 with excellent distinction and the highest score in his class, followed by a Master’s degree in 1987 and an MD degree in 1993 in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with doctoral research conducted at the In Vitro Fertilization Unit, University of Pennsylvania, USA . Professor Sarhan completed advanced subspecialty training in infertility and assisted reproduction at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a diploma in microsurgery from San Francisco. He became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 1996 and a Fellow (FRCOG) in 2008. His academic and clinical career includes positions in Egypt, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, including consultant roles in IVF, registrar and locum consultant posts in UK hospitals, and long-standing academic appointments at Zagazig University . He is an active member of several national and international professional bodies, including the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists representative committees, the Egyptian Fellowship Council, ASRM, ESHRE, and the Egyptian Fertility Society. Professor Sarhan has an extensive publication record in reproductive medicine, infertility, and gynecology, and serves as a reviewer for multiple scientific journals, contributing significantly to research and education in obstetrics, gynecology, and assisted reproduction .
